Praying Mantis and Grasshopper

Have I told all of you how much I love synchronicity?!  Especially when I'm getting messages from nature...About a month ago, I was involved in a relationship that was causing me a lot of struggle with mixed feelings.  Nature presented me with the largest Praying Mantis I have ever seen.  I love to look up symbolic meanings of the things I see, and Dreammoods.com had an entry that gave me goosebumps:  "To see a praying mantis in your dream suggests that you are involved in a destructive relationship.  It may also indicate that you are preying on others. You are behaving deviously."  Wow.

Fast forward to today.  I reached an ending point with that relationship a couple of weeks ago, and have been alternating between feelings of relief and grief.  I knew it needed to end, but we all know how challenging break ups can be.  This morning, in nearly the same location the Praying Mantis had been (an unusual location; very visible up on top of a railing), my daughter pointed out a large and beautiful grasshopper.  From Dreammoods, "To see a grasshopper in your dream symbolizes freedom, independence or spiritual enlightenment. Alternatively, it indicates your inability to settle down or commit to a decision."  Wow again, and I have to admit to having had a tough time committing to this decision; we have ended communication and then reconnected more than once.  Looks like the universe is talking to me, and I better start listening!

Note that I saw these things in real life; these meanings are not limited to just things you see in your dreams!  Your outer world is a reflection of your inner world, so be observant and get curious about what is around you.  I for one am very grateful for the FUN of it when times get a little rough.

Cheers,
Jenny
